Lucky Puppy Notes

I saw these cute Frenchie bulldog oven mitts at the Anthropologie store for $14.00 each. I found the last two mitts, hidden in the bottom of the pile of floral oven mitts. These caught my even because of the design, colors and the quality, to replace my plain grey IKEA oven mitts in my kitchen that I have had for the last 5 years. A French bulldog is a small bread of domestic dog. There lifespan is between 10 -14 years. They like to be around humans.

Stitch had his pre-operative consultation on Thursday September 6th, 2018. They took his blood and the results turned out normal. Although during his checkup they found out that he has a hot spot on this neck. So that meant a couple of days without his collar and some spray antibiotics to help the hot spot heal. He was scheduled today for his operation. Drop off was between 8:00 - 9:00am, no food the night before starting at 8:00pm on Wednesday. Only thing he was allowed to have was water. Stitch was so happy going to the vet and thinking it was another day for a checkup. Ohh was he in for a surprise that morning... I got a call in the early afternoon, telling me his procedure went well and that he was going to be observed for the next couple of hours and that we needed to pick him up between 4:00 - 6:00 pm. Hubby went to pick him up after work. He wasn't the happy little boy he was that morning, still a little groggy and has to take some pills for his recovery. Also, he had to...

Jade started her volunteering at the Laurel Library Branch for their Read to Rover program as part of the Pet's on Wheels volunteer. This was her first experience volunteering, she did quite well. Basically the Read to Rover program, is a program where kids come up to the dogs and read them a book. This helps young kids improve on their reading skills, without any judgement from the therapy dogs. Also the pets like the attention.  Jade met a couple of dogs and even a very tame cat during her visit to the library. The volunteers at the library are really friendly, some are new volunteers and some are more experienced. It was nice to meet some new people in the area.  Overall, Jade was interested in what was going on and as to why she was in a building full of books. She was also curious as to why a kid was reading her a book while sitting on my lap. This experience will get her out more and socialized with different types of people of all ages and sizes...Oh and also ...

Life with Stitch has been interesting and fun! We 'play' in the morning together, but mostly it's him trying to bite my tail and herd me around the backyard. Sometimes when mama is working from home she will play fetch with us. Today I was worn out with being chased and chasing after the orange ball when mama threw it for me. It's my exercise for the day, besides lounging around and being a couch potato. LOL. Stitch is still learning to potty train. He is getting better and holding it more, especially with his poop. There is a spot the paw-rents created in the backyard for our bathroom area, it's nice to have but definitely can't use it at the same time as Stitch. He won't let me have any peace going to the bathroom. *** I guess now I know how it feels when I bother my mama in the bathroom ***

I'm super excited to announce that I passed my therapy dog assessment today! Mama signed me up to volunteer once a month as a therapy dog to the assisted living or maybe even go to a library close by. The organization that we signed up with is called  Pet's on Wheels . It's going to be nice to be able to make other people happy. Our first event will be the end of July. We are looking forward to it and hopefully I behave myself as the good girl that I am. I'm just super excited!!!

I have a little brother now! His name is Stitch, named after Lilo & Stitch the movie. Mama's favorite character, he's so cute and FLUFFY!! He is also a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. He was born February 23, 2018. Mama and Dada adopted him on April 20th, the day when a lot of changes were happening at once. I was a little hesitant about the surprise little brother but happy at the same time to have someone to play with. He is a little aggressive with his playing when it comes to playing with me but a good puppy to have around to keep me on my toes. He is a big eater and is still learning how to use the bathroom outside. Hopefully, he learns faster than later cause man does his poop's smell really bad. Eww! The kiddos love him and already call him by Stitch. Sometimes the little one calls him Jade but I think it's just because she thinks all dogs are named Jade. I'm not complaining though. Atleast they haven't forgotten about me. I know I'm loved! =)
