Making Treats Experience

Jade's mom here! I always thought there was a huge process to make dog treats. When I started looking up recipes, I was like wow, I can do this with what I have in my kitchen. Really? Buying dog treats can get expensive and you don't really know what's in the store bought stuff that your feeding your dog. I would like my little Jade to live for as long as she can. I want to give her the best types of food possible, that is also within my budget. This past month, I've been experimenting on dog treat recipes with ingredients that I have at home. I use my kids applesauce, fresh fruit, flour, oatmeal, peanut butter and even coconut oil. Things that I eat as a human that I can feed to my fur baby. Also, I can spare 30 minutes over the weekend preparing treats for her, which can last for like 2-3 weeks. It's simple and save I noticed that, when I started feeding Jade these treats, her fur and skin has gotten a lot better. In addition, her breath has also been less s...

Blueberry Oatmeal Biscuits

New recipe mama decided to try for my treats. Something a little different, to make them more solid and more like a biscuit. She even made them into different shapes using multiple cookie cutters. Ingredients: 2 cups all purpose flour 2 cups grounded oatmeal 1 pack Motts blueberry applesauce 1/4 cup fresh blueberries 1 container blueberry greek yogurt 2 tbs peanut butter 2 tbs coconut oil Directions: Grind up oatmeal finely in food processor Mix all ingredients together to make a dough. Roll out and cut out shapes using cookie cutters or whatever shape you would like to make with the dough Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.  Bake for 20 minutes and let cool inside of the oven. Hopefully your fur baby will enjoy these yummy biscuits!

Oatmeal, Peanut Butter, Coconut Oil and Banana Dog Treats

Before the year ended I finished all the dog treats mama had made for me a couple of weeks ago. So she tried a new recipe but added a few things. Mama ran out of the baby oatmeal from the last batch. So she used regular Quaker oats and used the food processor to grind it finely. Anyways, we hope you enjoy making these treats as much as we did.  Ingredients:  1 1/4 cup Oatmeal 1/4 cup peanut butter 3 tablespoon Coconut Oil 1 medium banana Directions:  Grind up oatmeal. Place in large bowl, mix in banana, coconut oil, and peanut butter.  Create small balls and and then flatten them with a spoon Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Bake for 15-20 minutes. When done, leave in oven to cool. This makes the treats firm up.

Gerber Baby Food Treats Recipe

If you have baby food at home that is no longer being used. Our toddler doesn't eat the Gerber oatmeal anymore. Mama didn't want to just throw it away, which would be a huge waste since there was more than half a container left. She decided to use the leftovers for treats, which turned out great for me. Homemade treats for me that are probably healthier for me than the store bought stuff. Ingredients: 1 1/4 cup Gerber Oatmeal 1 container of Gerber baby food. Any flavor you like Directions:  Mix all ingredients together, where it makes a sticky dough. Roll the dough out flat, then use your cookie cutter to cut out shapes for the treats. Place treats onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.  Place baking sheet into oven at 350F, for 20 minutes.  Once done, turn off oven and let the baking sheet sit in the oven for the treats to dry out.  When the treats have cooled down. Enjoy!

Peanut Butter Pumpkin Oatmeal Treats

I love pumpkin and peanut butter. Two of my favorite things to eat. These were delicious!  Can't you tell by how I'm munching down on them? Good thing I don't have any brothers or sisters cause I definitely do not want to share these yummy treats. Mama says I should share. Might have to bring some for my fur friends during our friendgiving luncheon in a couple of weeks. I hope you enjoy mama's recipe down below.  Peanut Butter Sweet Potato Treats Ingredients : 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter 1 3/4 cups blended old fashion oats 1 can of pureed pumpkin Directions :  Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.  In a large bowl, stir together the peanut butter and pumpkin. Then stir in the flour a 1/4 cup at at time until the dough is no longer sticky. Scoop out the mixture with a spoon and place them on a baking sheet. I made them into a medium size but you can make them smaller if you like.  Bake at 350 deg...
