Jade's Recovery Process

Jade came home from surgery last Wednesday and has been doing pretty well. She was stubborn the first day taking her medicine, which made it frustrating for mama to get her to take them. Good news from the vet is that I got to keep my tail and they did not have to do anything to my left leg for now unless I do something else to myself. It looks like most everything shifted back into place when they moved my right hip back into place. The next day, mama gave me my medicine with wet food to make it easier to take than just swallowing it without anything. We have a good routine going now. I take my meds without any issues and I get to eat my yummy wet food mixed with kibble. Jade is still not putting down the leg. Mama has been helping me but gently pulling it down while I'm eating to let me know that I can put my leg down. I just don't feel like I'm ready to put pressure on it. However, it's only the beginning of week two of the recovery process. It will just take m

World Pet Expo 2019

Stitch got to check out the World Pet Expo at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium. He was a bit overwhelmed with seeing so many dogs and people at the event. This was his first outing for going to an event with the family. Mama bought me and sister (Jade) some homemade yummy treats to share from a couple of the vendors. Jade wasn't able to come with us this year since she is still recovering from her hip surgery. There was also some exhibits and shows of other dogs in their agility, swimming, and obstacle courses. Stitch met so many fur-friends and other corgis that he wasn't very interested in. He seemed to be more interested in all the bigger doggies at the event.

Surgery Day!

Jade went into surgery this morning for her hip fracture. I wasn't too happy about the cost since it's so expensive but I couldn't have my puppy girl in so much pain and not get her the help she needed. I'm not exactly sure what happened to her. She was fine all week and then on Friday, I noticed her right leg was just hanging there and she wasn't putting any pressure on the leg. There was a potential to amputate her tail and fix her left leg as well but good news is that she didn't have to do that as part of her surgery, which helps me save some money for the surgery. Also the doctor said that with the right leg being fixed that there is a chance that everything else will be put back into place. Jade comes back today after I get off of work. I hope she's doing better and can hopefully start to use her right leg again. I know she will be sore and will need to be on pain medications for a while. The next few weeks will be difficult for her, with her
