Making Treats Experience

Jade's mom here! I always thought there was a huge process to make dog treats. When I started looking up recipes, I was like wow, I can do this with what I have in my kitchen. Really? Buying dog treats can get expensive and you don't really know what's in the store bought stuff that your feeding your dog. I would like my little Jade to live for as long as she can. I want to give her the best types of food possible, that is also within my budget. This past month, I've been experimenting on dog treat recipes with ingredients that I have at home. I use my kids applesauce, fresh fruit, flour, oatmeal, peanut butter and even coconut oil. Things that I eat as a human that I can feed to my fur baby. Also, I can spare 30 minutes over the weekend preparing treats for her, which can last for like 2-3 weeks. It's simple and save I noticed that, when I started feeding Jade these treats, her fur and skin has gotten a lot better. In addition, her breath has also been less s

New Bone Toy

So I was a little rough with my yellow bone last week and ended up destroying it, like what most dogs do when when chew their toys for too long. Mama ended up buying me a new bone this weekend at the Target for $1.99, which is a great deal. It is similar in size to the one I had before. It doesn't squeek much and the kids love throwing it for me!

Blueberry Oatmeal Biscuits

New recipe mama decided to try for my treats. Something a little different, to make them more solid and more like a biscuit. She even made them into different shapes using multiple cookie cutters. Ingredients: 2 cups all purpose flour 2 cups grounded oatmeal 1 pack Motts blueberry applesauce 1/4 cup fresh blueberries 1 container blueberry greek yogurt 2 tbs peanut butter 2 tbs coconut oil Directions: Grind up oatmeal finely in food processor Mix all ingredients together to make a dough. Roll out and cut out shapes using cookie cutters or whatever shape you would like to make with the dough Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.  Bake for 20 minutes and let cool inside of the oven. Hopefully your fur baby will enjoy these yummy biscuits!

Rover.com: Sagi's Stay

During the weekend, we had a new doggy guest stay with us on. Her name is Sagi, she might not look like it but she is a puppy, at one year's old. She's super playful, sometimes too playful for my older self. Sagi would love to chase me around the house and play tug of war with mama and me. She's awesome! Mama even got a video of her chasing her own tail. She's such a silly girl. I wish she could have stayed longer to play with me. Maybe we will have more doggy guests soon. Please visit our rover page, if your interested in a fun stay with me!

Yearly Vet Physical Visit

I went for my yearly veterinarian visit this month. I met some fur friends there getting their exams also. When I got their they put me on the scale to get my body weight. I am currently at 7.5lbs, which is healthy for my small size. I waited patiently for the doctor. They even gave me some treats for being a good girl during the visit. The doctor said I looked like a little fox. I get that alot, maybe because of my big ears! I did get some vaccines and drew some blood. All the results came back and I am healthy as can be! It's always good to stay healthy and up to date on your vaccinations. So make sure your paw-rents take you for your yearly physical. =)

My Yellow Bone Toy

My little owner loves playing fetch and tug a war with me. She doesn't throw far but when she gets older she will be pitching it pretty far across the house like mama. I like that I'm able to make her laugh. It makes me happy that I provide her with "entertainment", as mama would say. LOL 🍖

Belly Rubs

I like belly rubs and I can not lie. Belly rubs are my weakness. I don't always get so much love and attention but when I do, I enjoy it.

Oatmeal, Peanut Butter, Coconut Oil and Banana Dog Treats

Before the year ended I finished all the dog treats mama had made for me a couple of weeks ago. So she tried a new recipe but added a few things. Mama ran out of the baby oatmeal from the last batch. So she used regular Quaker oats and used the food processor to grind it finely. Anyways, we hope you enjoy making these treats as much as we did.  Ingredients:  1 1/4 cup Oatmeal 1/4 cup peanut butter 3 tablespoon Coconut Oil 1 medium banana Directions:  Grind up oatmeal. Place in large bowl, mix in banana, coconut oil, and peanut butter.  Create small balls and and then flatten them with a spoon Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Bake for 15-20 minutes. When done, leave in oven to cool. This makes the treats firm up.

MY BIG NOSE!

Why didn't anyone tell me that my nose was so BIG!!?? Although it is cute, it's like the shape of a heart up close. 🖤

Happy 2018!

So it's finally 2018! Happy New Year Everyone! This year will be a great year with learning new tricks and meeting many more fur friends in the area. Mama has so many plans for me, like learning to stay close when off leash. I was bad last year and ran out the house down the block when mama was calling me. She was not too happy with me. I need to work on my listening and guidance from mama. Maybe we will get more house guests from our service on Rover.com. I liked having Elroy here for the holidays last year. He was an awesome friend to have around. He even chased me around the house, which was so much fun. =D I hope you have a paw-sitively awesome year!!
