Lucky Puppy Notes

Happy Lunar New Year! It's the year of the metal Rat. I wish all of my friends and family a happy, lucky, wealthy, healthy and prosperous throughout the year.

Merry Christmas Everyone! 

Today was a sad day for our family. Jade passed away suddenly. We are not sure what happened but I think she passed away peacefully in her bed. We assume that with all her surgeries that she had from the beginning of the year til now, that her little body couldn't take it anymore. We will definitely miss her dearly. Jade was my first dog. I remember getting her from the Today's Pet Store in Columbia, Md. She was very timid and sleeping but once she got use to living with us she turned out to be the most friendliest and hyper dog. She has the most lovable personality. She loved to play with her rope. We would try to hide it from her and she would always find it. Once she found it she would want us to throw it so she could play fetch. She would never really get tired. The kids loved playing fetch with her. Jade's other favorite thing to do was go on long walks to the park or around the neighborhood. It was our time together, no kids or Stitch. I really hope she is up in

Mama bought us some wild salmon oil to use for our coats and skin from Petsmart for $7.99. Stitch's fur has been a little coarse in certain areas on his back. Mama want's to see if this will help make it softer. Mom has been keeping up with his grooming needs to make him more presentable from shedding all over the house. =P He isn't a fan of the grooming but when it's done he feels so much better with less fur on his body in this super hot heat during the summer. Jade's fur is already pretty good, however, she does have dandruff. So hopefully the salmon oil will help with her skin's dryness. We just started taking the oil yesterday, so we will have to wait to see if it help our skin and coat conditions. Stay tuned~!

Last week, mama went through a phase where she brushed me for a whole week, since I was shedding so much. Mom was so frustrated with my undercoat.  Mama here: I researched how to get Stitch's shedding under control. I watched a youtube video of this lady, who has 14 corgis, showing her weekly routine of what she would do to keep her corgi's coat under control and keeping them beautiful. Brushing with a brush, then with an undercoat comb, she used conditioner's and paw balm.  I can also use this technique on Jade, even though her grooming is a lot easier for me.  Anyways, mom bought the  undercoat comb  (target, $6.99), after brushing me for a week and combed me out in the backyard. I had so much fur come off of me, that it could have been another small dog. I felt so much better afterwards too! Then she bought waterless foam shampoo by  wahl  ($5.99) for me and cleaned me up last night. The smell was coconut lime verbana. She rubbed it thoroughly into my coat

Jade attended the  Greenbelt Pet Expo on Saturday June 1, 2019. It was her first outing since her surgeries. The expo was not too big, about a block, which had a good amount of friendly vendors. She met a few new people and dogs in the area. Most of the vendors were selling dog related products and the SPCA was there providing vaccinations for a small fee. I obviously had to get my puppy girl some treats. I even got to play in the Greenbelt dog park before heading home. It was an enjoyable day~! Please enjoy the photo's we took at the event. =)
